Transformation Prayer

Thanks so much to Dave Johnson for coming up with a fantastic idea to help us pray transformationally.  Throughout the week, many people took coloured ribbons and tied them to the college railings as a symbol of their prayer (each colour representing a particular situation, covering thanks, loss, sorrow, celebration and transformation).  Ribbons are still available in reception or in Leech Hall if you would like to continue praying over the next week.

Comedy Night and Poetry Slam

Friday night was the Grand Finale of the Transformation Project and we went out in style, holding a Comedy Night and Poetry Slam in the John's Bar overspill room.

We had hilarious transformation themed comedy from Chris and Benedict...

..and then some fantastic performance poetry from Ben, Emily and Benedict (again!)

Let me just say that the pictures do not do the evening justice!  Thanks so much to our participants and well done to Ben for being crowned the overall winner of the poetry slam!

More Random Acts of Kindness...

It's been great to see people showing their appreciation of the work of others this week, as part of the random acts of kindness challenge.  Here are a few signs I spotted around college on Friday...

Transformation Play One Night Only Performance!

Last night saw the one night only performance of a play developed and performed especially for the Transformation Project.  Put together in just over a week, this play (a collaboration between the Bailey Theatre Company and Cranmer Students) touched on themes of identity, relationship, loss and, of course, transformation.  There was incredibly imaginative use of the chapel space and some deeply touching performances.  As this is a work in progress, the cast and director would really value the feedback of anyone who came along to watch.  Get in touch with Kate or Matt Jamie if you'd like to chat about it.

Transformed Tree!

As part of the week's proceedings we decided to transform the tree in the chapel yard.  Weeks of knitting went into the project and putting up the decoration caused itself led to several conversations with passers by and a bemused maintenance man who had been assigned to ladder duty!  See the transformation below...

Photos from the Transformation Project Opening Night

Monday night was amazing!  Thank you so much to all who contributed and came along.  We had wonderful artwork, barbershop singing, string playing, storytelling, poetry performance, a band, some original short films and glow in the dark juggling!  Here are some pictures from the night. Thanks to Jonathan Gillespie for the photos.
